We ate at the Tasquinha da Ria on a recommendation from our tuktuk driver, on a day trip to Aviero, and it was the best meal we've eaten in Portugal. Servings are large (we were told we had ordered too much food by our waitress), so go hungry! Very reasonable prices and some of the tastiest seafood I have ever eaten. The caldeirada was packed full of seafood! Incredible value for the price, and all cooked to perfection in the sweetest broth! I'd recommend everyone to give it a try.

We didn 't know what to expect, but were delighted in the end by the small, local feel of it (lots of Portuguese customers and families) and by the attentive, all-women staff, as well as by the delicious food. We went back three times, and ordered just about everything on the menu, and it was all delicious and came in very large portions, so I don 't think you can go wrong in this place. It became our restarant during our 1-week stay in Aveiro and the watresses treated us very warmly. You can see the kitchen area from the tables, and it 's great to see all the women laughing together as they work hard to please their customers. We love this place!
