Incredible. I had high expectations because it's a Michelin reviewed restaurant, but not so much since I don't have tempura that often. What a beautiful dining experience from the presentation of the most gorgeous sake sakazuki glass I have ever seen, the service of having every dish explained, and the the delicateness of the thin layers of tempura that make me question every other piece of tempura I've had prior.
Wonderful experience for your special occasion! Awesome Japanese OMOTENASHI spirit, amazing artistic detailed each dishes, and great atmosphere. The chef did care about your personal dietary needs and even your eating paces. It’s totally worth it. To get straight to the point, Tempura Matsui serves a $300 tempura dinner, omakase style. The price is steep, but the incredible tempura and the personalized service is well worth the price of admission. Each course is a delightful play on traditional tempura, with no parts of the seafood off limits. Seating is extremely limited so reserve in advance, and definitely call ahead to reserve the lobster supplement to the prix fixe or you'll regret it.
Great dinning experience. Simple yet elegant decor and setting. Pleasant and courteous service. Good selection of sales; and price range is wide (from less than $100 to over $1000). Best part, of course, was the ingredients and the way those foods were prepared. Delicate, healthy and masterfully done.
